I created this 2D Animation for my final university project and it is meant to depict the current issue of the impact that our excessive plastic consumption has on the ocean and its marine life. I started by doing some research on the top and then came up with a storyline. Shortly after created a storyboard and after sourcing suitable sounds I put together an animatic in Adobe Premiere Pro (animatic visible at bottom of this page). This was followed by sketching background designs which I then redrew in Photoshop. For the illustration style I wanted some clean vector lines combined with more rough hand-drawn looking elements. After finishing the character design I started animating everything in After Effects. Finally I added all animated clips together in Premiere Pro and added the sound effects. Surprisingly the animation process itself did not take as long as I had previously expected. The preparation (storyline, storyboard, sound, etc.) definitely took up the most amount of time. I also had to present my project for which I created a poster which I got printed in A1 format. In the end I managed to get everything done on time and received a 1st for my animation and preparation.
